Refresh Retreat 2024

This year’s 2024 Ministers & Leaders Refresh Retreat in Hilo was truly incredible! We gathered with 77 pastors and 113 leaders from across our Hawaii AG Ohana, creating a powerful time of connection and renewal. Heartfelt thanks to Sure Foundation Church for hosting this impactful event and to the Big Island pastors for their invaluable support. A special appreciation goes to Pastor Jack and Carol Hanes from Imagine Nations Church in Penrith, Australia, who traveled all the way to be with us to share profound insights our pastors and leaders needed to hear. This annual Refresh Retreat is an unforgettable event that ministers and leaders shouldn’t miss—it’s a time to create meaningful memories and build lasting fellowship! Can’t wait till next year!

Pastor Jack Hanes is renowned for igniting a passion among Christians for missions and generating financial support for global evangelism. As the senior pastor of Imagine Nations Church in Penrith, Sydney, he leads a community dedicated to spreading the Gospel both locally and internationally. The church has made significant strides in funding church planting and global missions, while also engaging in local outreach through their Westcare Benevolent Services. Ps Jack’s vision emphasizes Jesus’ command to “Go into all the world and make disciples,” making it a priority for churches, pastors, and individuals. His dynamic communication style and extensive travel inspire many to focus on winning people to Christ.

Imagine Nations Church hosts an annual conference where its 1500-strong congregation pledges financial support for global missions, contributing over $1 million annually for more than a decade. As a former president of World Missions for the Australian AG Churches, Ps Jack developed innovative strategies for global outreach, including sending youth to Japan and empowering Australian pastors in mission leadership. His authored works, including “His Last Command Our First Priority” and “One Short Hour,” underscore the urgency of fulfilling the Great Commission. The church now has multiple locations, including branches in the USA and Australia. Jack, his wife Carol, and their three children, who are now all Australians, have made Penrith their home since pioneering the church in 1987. They are also proud grandparents of six grandchildren.
