Royal Rangers
Royal Rangers is an activity-based, small-group church ministry for boys and young men in grades K-12 with a mission to evangelize, equip and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders. We provide Christlike character formation and servant leadership development for boys and young men in a highly relational and fun environment.
We provide men with the tools to model Christlike manhood as they mentor boys on a Bible-based, Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered journey to maturity in the faith. Boys learn to study and apply what the Bible says about integrity, doctrine, biblical worldview, cultural issues and manhood. In addition, the Royal Rangers ministry molds boys into servant leaders, teaching them vital social, equipping, attitude, leadership and service skills.
The Royal Rangers program at a local church is referred to as an “outpost” and may consist of one or more groups. Each group follows a program of activities based on the interests and abilities of boys in that group. The links below provide details on the advancement system used in each group:
— Ranger Kids – Grades K–2
— Discovery Rangers – Grades 3–5
— Adventure Rangers – Grades 6–8
— Expedition Rangers – Grades 9–12
Our Mission.
The mission of Royal Rangers coincides with the mission of the church, as given by Christ in Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
EVANGELIZE
We will reach the world with Gospel of Jesus Christ by bringing together a community of men and boys who will connect with others through a variety of activities guys commonly enjoy.
EQUIP
We will train and resource our adult and junior leaders to effectively apply the Royal Rangers program within their areas of responsibility.
EMPOWER
We will provide opportunities for men and boys to improve their churches and communities through the practice of servant leadership.
The Royal Rangers program utilizes seven methods to guide boys on their journey to Christlian manhood. The manner in which each method is employed may vary from one church to another according to the style and culture of the church but all seven methods are represented in some way in every outpost.

This year’s pow wow was a huge success, with a total of 34 boys and 18 commanders/leaders in attendance. The worship was led by Pastor Kalani from Teen Challenge and Pastor Lokahi from Paradise Chapel Maile, and it was truly an awe-inspiring experience for everyone present. In an effort to make this year’s pow wow even more special, we decided to add a 6′ rock wall and Archery Tag to the lineup of activities. The boys absolutely loved these new additions, and it was amazing to see how much fun they were having. We also had a number of other events planned, including BB gum, Archery, Ax & knife throwing, an Obstacle course, and a craft building a tool box that every boy took home.

This year’s merits were: Fire craft and safety, Tool Craft with Axes, and Rope Craft with three knots - Figure 8, Taut Line, and Square Knot. The culmination of learning the knots was to make a presentation board with the three knots. Ranger Commanders from four churches and adults helped to make this event successful and Paradise Chapel AOG in Maili was hosting the event. In this event we had 33 boys from ages six to 18.
