We’re excited to share another update on the progress of the Maui fire shelters. Last week, our team laid down the critical foundation blocks that will hold everything together. This week, if you were standing on site, you’d notice a big change—anchors, mixed plates, beams, and joists are all going into place. Piece by piece, the structure is rising.

Pastor Sam shared that the crew is aiming to have most of this phase finished by the weekend. With that momentum, next week should bring the sealing of beams and preparations for the decking. Each step gets us closer to turning what was once an empty lot into a safe haven for families who lost everything in the fires.

Beyond the construction, this project carries a deeper meaning. As one volunteer shared, “I feel it’s my good duty to return the favor to the people who lost everything.” That sense of compassion and responsibility is what fuels the long hours and steady work.

We also want to extend a heartfelt invitation to our community: come by, lend your hands, and support the effort. Every prayer, every helping hand, and every donation matters. Our goal is to have families moving in before Thanksgiving, and with your continued partnership, we believe that can become a reality.

Together, we are not just building shelters—we are rebuilding lives, restoring hope, and showing the love of Christ in action.
